Officially proclaimed as a national holiday in 1990, Harriet Tubman Day is observed each year to honor her heroic work as a freedom fighter on the date of her passing on March 10, 1913.
Reception will feature special guests, live music, official proclamations, a commemorative poster, and more to celebrate the life and legacy of Harriet Tubman Davis.

This year’s ceremony will be emceed by award-winning reporter Morgan Scott of
CNYCentral.com. Hailing from Brooklyn, NY, the SUNY Oswego and Syracuse University graduate has a passion for storytelling and advocating for the voiceless.
The community will also have an opportunity to meet and hear from the new lead park ranger Brittany Lane of the
Harriet Tubman National Historical Park who will be stationed at the Thompson Memorial AME Zion Church—the sacred Parker Street site where Harriet Tubman Davis’ funeral was held on March 10, 1913.
